JayaramÂs house comes under attack

Activists of a pro-Tamil outfit on Friday allegedly attacked JayaramÂs house at Valasaravakkam in Chennai, protesting the actorÂs comments on a Malayalam television channel on his domestic help, who is a Tamil.
They damaged furniture and a car at JayaramÂs house. Police personnel posted at the place chased and apprehended eight of the accused persons. The attack took place even as the actor expressed regret for his remarks saying that they were made in a lighter vein.
Meanwhile, an advocate has filed a complaint before a magistrate court at Egmore in Chennai against Jayaram for Âmaking a derogatory remark against Tamil womenÂ.
In the complaint, A.Indirani of Chintadripet stated that the actor had made the remark on the television channel. When a journalist from a Tamil magazine sought a clarification, he had not expressed regret and said he had made the comment in a lighter vein.
